Tallow Pain Salve

Handcrafted by me in the Apothecary to help with stubborn muscle pain and stiffness.   Made with Cayenne & Turmeric from my Micro Urban Farm in the city.    This is a topical remedy which may be recommended for the following conditions, joint and muscle pain, lower back pain, pain after surgery, pain from nerve conditions like shingles.  The color is due to the herbs infused in the oils. Everything natural, herbal & cruelty free. Ingredients: Grass Fed Tallow, Cayenne Pepper, Sichuan Pepper, Ginger, Ledum, Turmeric, Menthol & Beeswax --Tallow is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. One of which is vitamin E, known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles.  Tallow and sebum (the oil in our skin) share many of the same lipids or fats in similar concentrations. Some believe that it is this similarity that allows tallow to absorb deep within the layers of the skin. --Cayenne pepper contains a compound called Capsaicin, which works by bringing blood to the affected area, providing oxygen and pain relief. Capsaicin causes nerve endings to release a chemical known as substance P. Substance P transmits pain signals from the body back to the brain.--Ginger can help reduce prostaglandins, which are the compounds associated with pain. It also stimulates the circulatory system and reduces tissue inflammation that causes stiff, swollen joints.--Turmeric is a natural painkiller. It's versatile use in eastern medicine has caused scientist to do much research on turmeric. It's potent anti-inflammatory properties have been acknowledged for the treatment of inflammation-related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or other conditions wherein the body's joints come under fire from its immune system, causing painful swelling resulting in stiffness and limited range of motion.
